Help me go OVER THE EDGE for Special Olympics!
They Say I Need Help!!!
Some say that voluntarily going over the edge of a 16-story building is a bit crazy. Perhaps so, but it reflects my faith in the importance of Special Olympics to our athletes.
My faith comes from direct experience. I coach two sports (Snowshoeing and Bocce) and play a third (Golf) as my son's Unified Partner. My son John has been a Special Olympics athlete since he was 8-years-old. My wife Shelly does more for Special Olympics than either of us. I know many athletes personally and know first hand how important Special Olympics is to their lives.
Special Olympics is always free to the athletes. That is essential to accessibility since our athletes typically have few financial resources. Yet it is not free to provide; the funds have to come from somewhere. That is where you can help!
I have surpassed my $6,000 goal. As a result, I can invite a friend to go Over The Edge with me. Since I was the first in the State to reach $6,000, I was also able to invite a second friend. So my brother Bill and Nathan Crowe went be going Over The Edge with me.
You can find the key pictures and a video of my descent, on my Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/johnbogasky.
You can also find those pictures, including a high resolution version of the picture at left, plus some others, on my OneDrive at https://1drv.ms/f/s!AHUmeemQt04Akaok.
Hopefully, at least one of those links will work for everyone.
While I have met my goal, I am still trying to raise funds to support the 7,549 athletes of Special Olympics Maryland! All donations are welcome.
