Welcome to Jen Herwig's Page
As a proud member of the Special Olympics Maryland Board of Directors, I enjoy every special opportunity to support and engage with Special Olympics athletes. At each board meeting, the CEO sponsors a “Mission Moment” where we meet one of the athletes and hear their story. These are my favorite moments, as they remind us of the importance of personal determination, positive attitude and global inclusion. I am always inspired by our athletes and their ability to overcome adversity and come out winning and Special Olympics makes a BIG difference.
Through the development of programming in sports, health, education and community building, Special Olympics is tackling the inactivity, stigma, isolation, and injustice that people with intellectual disabilities (ID) face. Our work goes far beyond sports events, this organization is driving social change that enables full social participation for people with ID.
Our athletes do not pay to participate – these opportunities are made available by the generous donations of those who support Special Olympics. Just over $200 affords one athlete the opportunity to participate for a year.
I am incredibly proud to partner with this organization. I hope you will be willing to lend your support to help me raise as much money as possible to support Special Olympics Maryland athletes. Every dollar makes a difference. Give as much as you are comfortable giving - even a donation of $5 or $10 can do so much. Your donation will go toward uniforms, medals, transportation, meals, attendance at special events like the Summer Games and everything in between.
I am honored and proud to be a part of an organization and a movement built on tolerance, appreciating differences and helping individuals to be their personal best, a goal that rings true in our company, too.
At Constellation, we believe in setting a high bar and we have increased our fundraising and been the top fundraising team for 4 years. While competition and winning are sweet, we really want to be the top fundraiser because that means we made a difference. Please help me maintain our title as Top Fundraising Team this year, so we can further the cause of building an inclusive community of dignity and respect. On behalf of the 7,782 athletes of Special Olympics Maryland, thank you for helping to create a world that is not limited by disability.
