Here we go!
This January I will take on the frigid waters of the Chesapeake Bay and Plunge for the 7,549 athletes of Special Olympics Maryland! Your donation will not only encourage me to plunge into the 34 degree Chesapeake Bay, but will also allow SOMD to continue to offer sports competition and training to athletes around the state at no cost.
In addition, half of the funds I raise will go to the Friends of Maryland State Parks (FMSP). Since leaving my career at the Maryland Park Service, I've been privaleged to serve as a volunteer for FMSP. FMSP is a statewide non-profit, independent, volunteer, citizen’s 501©(3) organization formed in 1997 to preserve, protect, enhance and advocate for our state parks — one of Maryland’s most precious treasures. We believe state parks are public lands that belong to “all citizens” and future generations. I've seen through first hand experience that the advocacy and support this organization supplies is extremely valuable to the future of state parks in Maryland. Please support my plunge and these two fantastic non-profit organizations!!
